The month of August was in the new South African democracy declared as Women’s month, this is a month wherein women are commemorated and celebrate their achievements in all spheres and the achievements that were attained by women who fought for the emancipation of women in yesteryear. The month of August is a month that we recognize the role currently played by women in improving the lives of fellow South Africans. National Women’s Day is a South African public holiday celebrated annually on the 9th of August.
What an exciting and meaningful month it has been for us at Workshop Electronics, as we wrap up the Month of August, we would like to take a moment and recap on the exciting events that took place.
- On the 19th of August 2022 Workshop Electronics in a PPP arrangement with The Gauteng Community Safety and Mogale City Local Municipality hosted a “Women in Transport” at Chambdor premises which was a great success and had a great impact.
- Our second event was held on the 26th of August 2022, which was also a Women’s Day event sponsored by ASUPOL, AIB (Coca Cola) and hosted at the Tshwane Metro Police premises. We as Workshop Electronics were invited to take part as an external stakeholder. This was a prestigious and successful event which saw all stakeholder engagements being impactful.
- The event was mainly to affirm the role played by women in society and in Law Enforcement specifically, its touched on several topics such as:
- Economic Empowerment
- Social Pressure
- Health and Wellness Perspectives
- Pull her down syndrome
- Break the Bias
These events were a resounding success and impactful, the objectives were met especially which is evident by the positive responses received from participants and the commitments made about such future endeavors.
We are positive that from hereon we can only grow from strength to strength, taking our women to greater heights and ensuring that Road Safety and Law Enforcement are kept paramount in our society and ensuring that women are recognized as the greater force for good in our society.
The events were well attended by women and the planning and implementation of the projects were conducted by women, which was a refreshing perspective, which also proved that any task given to a woman they can and will achieve.
